Software Localization

I have four years of in-house experience as an English-German software translator, tester, and project coordinator at Origin Systems. Since leaving Origin, I have continued working as a freelance translator and consultant with major entertainment software companies. My work has included:

Translating computer and video games for Origin, Electronic Arts, Firaxis, Looking Glass. Mattel Interactive and Jane’s Combat Simulations and other companies into German.
Translating extensive software documentation (up to 250 pp), web pages and installation programs.
Coordinating projects, many of them with development teams in remote locations.
Training other translators
Testing localized software in beta and final stages.
Writing guidelines for development teams on designing translation-friendly software.
Coordinating audio recordings with German dubbing studios.
Assembling teams of foreign language-testers (F, I, G, S and other languages) and consulting with companies on linguistic testing

I can offer complete German translation services for a localization project, ranging from in-game screens, documentation, subtitles to websites and packaging texts. I have translated several games containing over 200,000 words.
I can also assemble ad-hoc teams of translators for several languages and serve as an external translation coordinator.
