I was born and raised in Germany, and I studied at
the
University of Würzburg where I received a Ph.D. in English in
1987.
I have taught at the college level in Germany and in the United States.
I have built a well-equipped home office, have
access
to the large library system of the University of Texas, and have used
the
WWW extensively as a research tool (see my articles on the World Wide
Web
as an information resource in the AATIA Newsletter and
newsletters
of other translators' associations). I travel regularly to Germany,
read
German books, newspapers and professional journals and watch German
television.
